Nigel's Search Trails Article Nominated for an Award

You may remember Nigel's article, "Search Trails - Back to the Future" was published in Freepint.com a few months ago. We're very proud to report that the article has been nominated for the FUMSI Citation for Most Useful Article.

Freepint have recently introduced FUMSI, which addresses information needs by providing practical, useful resources to help workers Find, Use, Manage and Share Information – individually and in effective collaborative teams.

The winner will be announced at the Online Information Conference on Wednesday next week. We'll also be exhibiting at the show, so be sure to stop past booth 778 if you're around. You can also hear Nigel talk at the conference on Wednesday 5 December at 11:45 in Theatre A.

Blazing Trails in London - from Galas to Conferences

Nigel and I had a great time at the British Computer Society's Elite Gala Dinner last night. Held in the impressive Goldsmiths' Hall, the dinner was part of the BCS's 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Scott McNealy, Chairman and Co-Founder of Sun Microsytems was the guest speaker who also received a BCS Fellowship last night.

I am off later today to another IT related event. I am looking forward to the inaugural Search Marketing Expo (SMX) in London. This is the new conference series run by the Editors of Search Engine Land, Danny Sullivan and Chris Sherman.

Back in Black Tie

It's that time of year again!

Tonight we're dusting off the black tie and joining in the festivities at the BCS 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner by candlelight, in the Goldsmith's Hall in London.

This time last year we were proud to receive the Best Speciality Search Award at the Online Information Awards, as well as winning the Services Category at the BCS IT Professional Awards.

Nigel invited to Speak at Online Information

Nigel and I had a great time in New York at the Ad:tech conference last week. We were kept busy and met some interesting people, making it a very worthwhile trip.

Two Ad:tech conferences later, we're keeping the momentum going into next month.

From 4-6 December, we'll be attending the IMS (Information Management Solutions) Conference and Online Information Exhibition in Olympia Grand Hall in London.

Nigel will be speaking at IMS on Wednesday 5th December on "Search Trails - Back to the Future." Trexy will also be exhibiting at Online Information, so please feel free to stop by booth number 778 and say hello.

Ad:tech New York

Nigel and I are in New York attending the Ad:tech Conference this week. With over 10 000 people expected to attend, and more than 300 exhibitors, it promises to be a busy few days.

The New York City Marathon took place this weekend and New York is buzzing with activity as usual. It's great to be here and we're looking forward to all that the conference has to offer.

Techie Detectives at the Flag and Bell

Inspired by our visit to the Sherlock Holmes, everyone proved to be quite good detectives at last night's Flag and Bell. We found out some new, and interesting, things about our fellow FAB attendees. No-one really seemed to love Reality TV though - to everyone's relief!

The excitement is already building up for the December Christmas Special Flag and Bell. It will be generously sponsored by Skype and we're sure a good time will be had by all. As always.
