Release 694 and Going Up

Nige and I had another two day, power session busting bugs and improving Trexy.

We are now up to release 694 with lots more coming next week...

Any guesses what music we were listening to as we tested the trailblazing functionality?

Release 643 - A World of Widgets

Yesterday Meg and I continued our power weekend and churned out numerous quick fire releases - we are currently at version 643 (see the footer of Trexy.com pages). There's much more to come!

Trexy is designed to be intentionally AJAX free but you may notice there are lots of widgets ... So why widgets?

We designed the next version of Trexy into composable units, which can be reused and placed anywhere - including other search engines. These need to be simple, configurable bits of HTML. Stay tuned for how Trexy widgets will integrate with other search engines but in the meantime here are two widgets you may find interesting.

Here are the recent trails on Trexy:

Now you can search on where the trails intersect:

Good News - Bad News

Let's start with the bad news. Turbo10's cluster was taken out over the weekend due to a faulty networking setting. We've been mired in technical hell for the last four days. On Friday the system went down and we were hoping that Easter Sunday might see it come back to life but sadly it was one more day of bug fighting before we found the culprit. This has been one of our nastiest technical fights ever!!

The good news is Turbo10 is back, but there's more. While Meg and I were waiting for the floundering Turbo10 cluster to reboot we turned on "Juke Box Hero" for old times sake and started releasing the next version of Trexy!!! ;-)

Watch the release number at the bottom of the page - it's going up! Let's see how far we can get today - we're currently at release 615.

Bond Marvel makes it a marvellous FAB

A very big thank you to Bond Marvel Consulting for sponsoring the Flag and Bell last night. We appreciated Eleonora's generous support.

It was great to see so many new faces who were all warmly welcomed by the FAB regulars.

The pub quiz proved to be a bit tricky this month as the usual tech questions were substituted with music ones in the lead up to Murphis karaoke bar.

It was surprising to see so many of you shining in the singing spotlight!

Crowd - pleasers were definitely 'New York, New York' and 'Sweet Child of Mine'.
